Wildlife in Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park is one of Uganda’s most accessible and wildlife-rich conservation areas. Located in western Uganda between Kampala and the larger national parks of southwestern Uganda, the park covers approximately 370 square kilometers and supports a remarkable diversity of wildlife.
Although it is Uganda’s smallest savannah national park, Lake Mburo offers exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities. The park is particularly famous for its large populations of zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, and giraffes. It is also one of the few places in Uganda where visitors can enjoy walking safaris, horseback safaris, cycling safaris, boat cruises, and traditional game drives while observing wildlife.
The park’s combination of rolling savannahs, acacia woodlands, wetlands, rocky outcrops, and lakes creates ideal habitats for numerous animal and bird species.
