Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is one of Uganda’s most spectacular wildlife destinations and the smallest national park in the country. Located in the southwestern corner of Uganda, the park covers approximately 33.7 square kilometers and forms part of the larger virunga Consevation Area shared by Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo
The park is famous for mountain gorila trekking, golden monkey tracking , breathtaking volcanic scenery and rich biodiversity. It is the only national park in Uganda where visitors can track both mountain gorillas and golden monkeys.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is located in Kisoro District in southwestern Uganda near the borders of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The park lies within the Virunga Mountain Range and is approximately 510 kilometers from Kampala.
The nearest town is Kisoro, which serves as the gateway to the park
History of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Mgahinga was gazetted as a national park in 1991 to protect the endangered mountain gorillas and preserve the fragile ecosystems of the Virunga Mountains.
